She
was in service until 1971 in England. Then she was
sold to Gene Electra in Brussels Belgium in March
1971. Omni Promotions bought her in March 1973.
Omnibus was a dealer in London. The bus left London
in May 1973. She was brought to Beaumont Texas that
same year and month by the Beaumont Tourist and
Conventions Bureau for which she was used for promotions.
Cathedral in the Pines bought and used her for awhile,
then sold her to the Handle Bar Restaurant. They
were going to use her for a party bus. They wanted
to "limo" people from place to place but
that didn't materialize due to insurance problems.
The Handle Bar then sold her to Perry Sligar of
Dippity's Hamburgers (in Lumberton). He was going
to make an addition to his restaurant. Needless
to say the manager and his wife of the restaurant
weren’t too happy. They thought it was too much
trouble. Perry Sligar had it in his possession for
5 years. In 2001 we purchased it from him.The page
on the RLH's has the picture the way we found it.
MXX 225 (her license plate number) is still on the
bus! All original!
